My name is Jay Varney and I have been Madera County Sheriff/Coroner since January 2015. I have over 34 years of law enforcement experience, including over 21 years in leadership positions including Sheriff/Coroner. Throughout my career, I have been a results-oriented, problem solving team builder. I believe my combined experience, attitude, and training are what our county continues to need in order to make Madera County the safest county in California.
